Bucket Stool

This project had one constraint: students were required to create the seat of a stool by hand-mixing and pouring three inches of concrete into the bottom of a bucket. The rest was up to us. We could make the legs out of any material, as long as the final height of the stool was ~17 inches.

I wanted to approach this from an artistic concept, challenging the whole objective. Instead of focusing on the legs, I obscured them from view. I began by tying yarn, string, and tinsel around a wire ring, which afterwards was inserted into the wet concrete along with four metal rods that support the stool.
